On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had a conversation with Uttarakhand’s CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Haryana’s CM Manohar Lal Khattar on the Kanwar Yatra via video conferencing. It was decided that the safety of Lord Shiva devotees is our priority. Therefore, this time there will be a stay on Kanwar Yatra 2020. Consent will be obtained from the Chief Ministers of Rajasthan, Delhi and Punjab. This time Lord Shiva devotees can perform Jalabhishek by following the Corona Protocol at the local level.

A large number of Lord Shiva’s devotees from states like Delhi, Haryana, UP etc. go to Haridwar to collect Ganga water. During the Kanwar Yatra, the Kanwar Sangh organizes a large event in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Bijnor. IG of Meerut zone Praveen Kumar said that Kawad organizations had informed that this year, due to corona epidemic and government guidelines, no one will travel. All the devotees of Lord Shiva should celebrate this festival at home. The Kawar committees of Meerut had requested not to take out the yatra. He wrote a letter to the government in this regard. Its report was sent to the government of UP and Uttarakhand.

CM Rawat also discussed with Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the Kanwar Yatra 2020. Rawat said that the Union Minister had also asked to seriously consider the yatra to prevent corona infection. He said that the Kanwar Sanghs and the Saint Mahatmas had also proposed to postpone the Kavad Yatra this time. Therefore, the Chief Minister Of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath and Chief Minister Of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar had discussions regarding the Kanwar Yatra.
