US President Donald Trump Thanked India For Removing The Ban On Export Of Hydroxychloroquine:-

US President Donald Trump thanked India for lifting the ban on hydroxychloroquine in the fight against Corona. On this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Trump’s tweet on Thursday, saying that difficult times bring friends closer. I completely agree with you, President Trump. The India-US relationship has become stronger than ever. India will do whatever it can to help humanity in the fight against Corona. We will win it together.

Trump tweeted on Wednesday – “A more strong bond between friends is needed in difficult times.” Thank you to India and the people there for deciding on hydroxychloroquine. Thank you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for your leadership in not just India but humanity in this fight.

Trump Praised Modi:-

Trump on Wednesday praised Modi for changing his attitude towards India with regard to hydroxychloroquine. He said in a telephonic conversation with Fox News, “I have bought millions of doses”. Over 2.9 crore (29 million) doses of this drug have been purchased. I also spoke to Modi. Most of these (dose) will come from India. I first asked him if he would give drugs (hydroxychloroquine). He gave us medicines. He is great and very good. You know, he imposed a ban on the export of these medicines because he wanted these medicines for India. Things have improved with Modi’s decision.

Earlier on April 7, President Trump threatened that action would be taken if India did not send the drug despite his personal insistence. After 6 hours, India had announced to send this medicine to other countries keeping in mind its needs. On Saturday, Trump requested India to supply hydroxychloroquine.

India Had Banned The Export Of Hydroxychloroquine:-

On 25 March, the government announced a ban on the export of hydroxychloroquine to ensure availability in the domestic market. The government had imposed this prohibition in the country due to the possibility of worsening the situation due to corona infection so that there is no shortage of essential medicines in the country. On Tuesday, Foreign Department spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said that on the basis of humanitarianism, the government decided that hydroxychloroquine and paracetamol would also be sent to the neighboring countries who are seeking help from us.

What Is Hydroxychloroquine?

Hydroxychloroquine is an old and inexpensive medicine for the treatment of malaria in India. This drug is being used as an anti-viral in the midst of the growing infection of the corona. India is one of the largest manufacturers of hydroxychloroquine. However, there is no firm evidence that hydroxychloroquine is effective in fighting an epidemic like coronavirus. According to a report from the Zhejiang University of China, a person taking hydroxychloroquine can fight longer with the corona.
